INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE

Indian Head Massage, or another name for it Champissage, takes its roots from the Indian alternative medicine system called Ayurveda (means “science of life) and is based on balancing the energies within the body to promote balance and awake natural powers of the human body for self-healing. The history of this unique technique counts more than 2000 years.

Indian Head massage focuses on stimulating acupressure points along the head, neck, and shoulders and face.

The duration of the treatment is usually up to 45 minutes.

Aroma and essential oils can be incorporated to the treatment, but usually it’s done without it in Western world. Most popular oils for this treatment are coconut oil and almond oil.

Techniques used:

· Points stimulation

· Strokes

· Stretches

Indian Head Massage usually starts with treating the upper back, shoulders and neck to loosen the muscle tension in these areas. Then the scalp is massaged in specific sequences of techniques to stimulate acupressure points of the head. Finally the face is treated: forehead, cheeks, chin and area around the eyes.

Everyone can benefit from Indian Head Massage as it brings overall feeling of wellbeing and maintain positivity.
